Application Form to become a member of the "Field Gunners Association"

Portsmouth Field Gun Memorial

Located at the Fleet HQ Building,

HMS Excellent,

Portsmouth

As you all know the Whale Island Memorial Gun was moved from this site and placed along side the memorial Statue in Victory Arena.

In the Guns place and at no cost to the Association

a Field Gun Wheel has been set up in it's place.

The work was carried out by Jake Adams, Phil the Painter, Field Gun friends and of course our very own Pete Ruddock who have yet again done an excellent job.

We could not find another Gun to replace the original

as there are no spare guns that we could use!

This is a calling notice out for

Soapy’s Watson's annual rugby match…..

Soapy passed away on 15^th May 2006. He was a good friend and fun to be around.

He loved his Rugby. He played for the Navy and United Services 1st,2nd and Vets teams and was the RN Navy first 15 manager for a number of years. He was also a staunch supporter of Portsmouth Field Gun.

Mature vet's wanted, (does he mean us?) on the field of play (5 mins each) (honest!!!)

Details: Match at Gosport & Fareham's ground Gosport Park on the Sat 25^th April 2009

KO time to follow but likely 1430.
